As we close the chapter on an extraordinary 2024, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for the remarkable achievements made possible by our supporters, partners, and volunteers. From community events to direct support for law enforcement officers, this year has been nothing short of incredible.
Active Shooter Training This year, we proudly supported the essential Active Shooter Training program by providing meals to over 1,000 first responders and participants. This critical training ensures the safety of our communities, and we are honored to have played a role in its success.
Blue Karaoke Event In June, we hosted the Blue Karaoke Event, bringing the community together for a night of fun and fundraising. Thanks to the incredible support of attendees, we raised funds to enhance the well-being of the Cobb County Police Department’s Special Victims Unit by providing:

• Recliners for resting during long shifts.
• A refrigerator and snack dispenser stocked with drinks and snacks to keep their team refreshed and ready to serve.

"Let Them Eat Turkey" Golf Tournament In August, we hosted the annual "Let Them Eat Turkey" Golf Tournament at Brookstone Golf and Country Club. The tournament raised the funds needed to cover the cost of traditional Thanksgiving meals for officers working during the holiday. This event continues to grow, bringing together golfers, sponsors, and volunteers who share a passion for supporting local law enforcement.
Thanksgiving Day Meal Delivery On Thanksgiving Day, we delivered over 400 meals to on-duty officers, administrative staff, and 911 operators across Cobb County and beyond. These efforts, funded by the golf tournament, ensured that those working to keep us safe could enjoy a traditional holiday meal.
Partnering and Community Engagement Throughout 2024, we collaborated with agencies across Cobb County to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the community. Highlights include:

• Cookouts, officer appreciation meals, and educational forums.
• Delivering bakery treats and meals to agencies across the county as random acts of kindness.
• Partnering with organizations like MUST Ministries and businesses like The Home Depot to meet urgent needs, such as providing a refrigerator and pantry essentials to an officer recovering from a devastating house fire.

2024 Blue Family Christmas Gala We closed the year with our most memorable event, the 2024 Blue Family Christmas Gala. This black-tie evening brought together officers, community members, and business leaders for a night of dinner, dancing, and camaraderie.

• The funds raised from this event allowed us to provide significant financial assistance to four officers and their families facing extraordinary challenges.
• The gala continues to grow each year, exemplifying the power of community and the unwavering support for our law enforcement officers.

Looking Ahead As we reflect on 2024, we are inspired by the impact we made and motivated to do even more in 2025. With your continued support, we are confident in our ability to serve and uplift the law enforcement community in new and meaningful ways.

​This Thanksgiving marked the 11th year of our tradition: ensuring that the dedicated officers, deputies, 911 operators, admin personnel, and other first responders working on Thanksgiving Day didn’t miss out on the holiday spirit. These brave men and women, who sacrifice time with their families to keep our communities safe, deserved a warm, hearty meal—and thanks to the incredible efforts of our volunteers and supporters, we were able to make it happen once again.
This year, we delivered approximately 400 meals across Cobb County and beyond. For those working during the lunch hour, we prepared hot, homemade Thanksgiving meals, including:

• Turkey
• Dressing
• Sweet potato soufflé
• Green beans
• Rolls
• Cranberry sauce

Later shifts were greeted with trays of turkey, ham, assorted cheeses, breads, chips, and salads, so they, too, could enjoy a comforting dinner. And, of course, no holiday meal would be complete without dessert! From pies and cookies to cakes and other sweet treats, there was plenty to go around.
We couldn’t have accomplished this without the unwavering support of our volunteers. A special thank you to Nancy Grace of CNN, FOX, and Merit Street networks, as well as Denise Dillon of CNN and FOX5 Atlanta, for joining us once again with their families to help deliver meals. Your continued dedication means the world to us.
Our heartfelt gratitude also goes out to:

• Publix, for their generous bakery donations.
• Our incredible kitchen staff, who worked tirelessly to prepare the meals.
• Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Marietta, for providing us with the space we need to stage, prepare, and distribute the meals every year.

This annual effort is a reminder of the power of community and the impact we can make together. To every volunteer, supporter, and partner who helped make this Thanksgiving memorable for our first responders: Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

On June 14th, we hosted our electrifying "Blue Karaoke" fundraiser at the Governor's Gun Club in Kennesaw. The night was bursting with incredible talent, mouthwatering food, refreshing adult beverages, a wine pull, raffle drawing, and more. Contestants battled it out in an epic karaoke sing-off, and we awarded trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, plus a "Fan's Favorite" trophy. Yesterday was a heartwarming day as Blue Thanksgiving, Inc. hosted a delightful grill-out for officers at precinct one in Kennesaw. Picture this: officers from various precincts, sharing smiles, swapping stories, and savoring delicious burgers and hotdogs. It was a true celebration of community and camaraderie.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to ServeComm.org for their invaluable support, providing their mobile kitchen and ensuring the event ran smoothly.

But here's the thing: events like these are just a glimpse of what we do. Throughout the year, we're on a mission to show our law enforcement heroes how much we appreciate them. From random meals to on-duty officers all over Cobb County to our flagship Thanksgiving Day meal deliveries, we're there, making a difference.

At Blue Thanksgiving, Inc., we believe it is important to have this crucial support available to our heroes. This month, we were honored to join Cobb County in hosting an impactful event where attendees not only enjoyed a comforting dinner but also gained invaluable insights into managing job-related stress.
This event offered comprehensive education on recognizing the signs of stress and effective coping mechanisms tailored to both first responders and their families. With a licensed counselor on-site leading educational sessions and peer support readily available, attendees found a supportive community of understanding peers.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Cobb County for spearheading this essential initiative and for graciously inviting us to play a part. Events like these epitomize the essence of our "Balancing the Blue Line" campaign, which strives to prioritize the mental well-being of our first responders.

Last week, we sadly bid farewell to a hero, Mike Nolin, Sr.  After serving in law enforcement for 41 years, and with the Cobb County Police Department for 26 of those years, Sergeant Nolan leaves behind a legacy of dedication, compassion, and service.
Throughout his career, Sgt. Nolin touched the lives of many with his kindness, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to public safety. His impact on our community will always be remembered and cherished.
To Sgt. Nolin's family and loved ones, we extend our heartfelt sympathies and support during this difficult time. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers, and we stand with you in solidarity as we remember and celebrate the remarkable life of this hero.
